Protein anyone?
I am interested in finding out what besides shakes or smoothies do any of you consume? I have been eating deli meats but am finding out that they are to high in sodium. I have started to drink protein shakes but I can only have one-barely because I don't really like the taste so I prefer to eat protein but I have a extremely hard time eating beef. What about you, what do you eat that is high in protein?

I love chicken, tuna, salmon, other types of fish, & cottage cheese. I add cheese to the recipes to add protein. Also, use carb countdown milk whenever possible. Pudding is good with the carb countdown milk and protein powder mixed in. I like the chocolate malt protein powder by ABB made with chocolate CC milk and 1/2 pkg of CIB put in a blender with ice til it makes a shake ....gives you 34 g of protein. You can also add peanut butter to the shakes or chicken recipes(like for thai chicken) to add protein. Qsmart bars are great to keep around in case you need a snack 10 g protein.

You know I have heard alot about Carb countdown milk but just have not tried it. I do like the chocolate Carnation instant breakfast and mixing milk and that does add up to alot of protein and who doesn't like shakes like that?
Everyone has given me so much good alternatives to use, I would love to continue to hear more. I hope this helps anyone else out there wondering what they can eat too.
Thanks a bunch
Hi Elena! I have been drinking the Isopure Dutch Chocolate Protein Shake from GNC since I got home from the hospital. I drink 2 shakes per day which gives me 70 grams of protein. I really like the taste! I mix 1-1/2 scoops of powder per shake with approx. 9 oz. of iced water and some crushed ice. It mixes quite well with a spoon, and I find doesn't form the foam at the top compared to when I used to use a shaker to mix it. It tastes like the chocolate drink Yoohoo.
Hope this helps. As far as food, I eat salmon, shrimp, scallops, I also purchase chicken tenders from either Sam's Club of Costco and prepare it with different marinades. All low carb and sugar free of course!
Aloha, Pat
Hi Elena,
I have been eating MET-RX Protein Plus protein bars. I have tried a few flavors but have been eating the Chocolate Roasted Peanut with Caramel. It has 32 grams of protein, 2 grams sugar, Trans fat 0. It also has 40% DV for calcium. You can buy it at WAWA to sample it. I also buy them at GMC stores. I have been buying them by the case. I could not tolerate protein shakes they made me vomit. Before I could eat the protein bars I had to drink milk like crazy to make up for the lack of protein. The bars to me taste much better than the shakes. My Doctor said I could eat 2 a day. Good Luck!
