Nauseous

Hey gang, I've been having some problems with being nauseous after eating for the past week or so. I talked to my surgeon and he said that it could be either I'm eating too quickly or too much. He doesn't seemed to be concerned especially since I've not vomited. I've been eating pretty much the same amount of food and I don't think I'm eating too quickly. There doesn't seem to be a pattern it's just pretty much after I eat or drink one of my protein shakes. It usually hits me about 10-15 minutes after I've finished eating and it lasts for about 20 minutes. I just feel icky and I also noticed I feel colder too than normal during that time. Last night after I took my calcium I felt that icky feeling again. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Thanks! Deanna

Deanna: I am having the same problems. I have not vomitted either. So today, I went back to soft foods, like tuna and crackers, etc. I still felt nauseous after eating the tuna, but I'm hoping this will clear up in a few days. I have a lot of stress right now. After I relax, hopefully it will get better. Sassy

Hi Sassy, Sorry to hear you're having problems too, but it's nice to hear I'm not alone in this. I'm just really hoping this doesn't turn into something ugly like becoming lactose intolerant or not able to handle sugar alcohol etc. Hope things improve quickly for the both of us!! Deanna

The only times I felt like that was when I ate too fast & didn't chew well enough. Not sure if that helps...sorry I have no other suggestions. Christie

Thanks Christie! I'm not real sure what to think of it at this time. I've made myself eat a lot slower with the hopes of that helping but nada. I even drink my protein shake over a span of about 30-45 minutes but that doesn't seem to help either. Thanks for your input!! Deanna

Only every so often now I'll get a grouchy pouchy, but for the most part do fine. However, I did have my doc refill my Rx of Protonix (like Prilosec) and that helped out a lot. Good luck with your grouchy pouchy!

Hi Wendy I sure hope it's just being grouchy and not anything worse than that! What problems were you having that made you have to take Protonix? Thanks for the words of encouragement!! Deanna

Deanna, I am sorry to hear that you are having this problem. I don't get nauseaus from eating, but from smells. Certain smells make me nauseaus and then I have a hard time eating my meal. I hope this straightens out for you soon. Kim

OH YES It started about a month ago and like you it has no reason. At first it was just off and on for about the last week it has been just about everything that I eat. Was so sick last night I had to go to bed. All I had eaten was a slice of baked chicken and a spoon of peas, and was interuped by the phone twice while eating so I know I wasn't eating to fast. The only good thing about this is that I am eating less and less. Surgen doesn't seem concerned because I am not throwing up and it isn't a burning feeling. I go to see him the 31 of next month and if it isn't better by then I am really going to bug him for some kind of and answer. Hope your feeling better soon and that knowing your not alone helps..........Peggy
