last night for my water aerobics class, since the chlorine ate the other one. When I got home and tried it on I went out to show my kids and my son (he is 11) yelled "mommy you look so skinny". I thought I was going to cry. My kids have never been ugly about my weight or even made comments except "why don't you lose weight mommy". Things like that, but they also have never said I was pretty or anything. I am definitely not skinny yet as I have only lost 52 lbs but man did that make me feel good. Thank you for letting me share. That's great, Kim. Kids are wonderful! I think maybe they see how we are inside more than adults do and notice things like how happy losing weight makes us. Adults see our outward appearance first and I think some adults are afraid to acknowledge weight loss. You should be very happy and probably do look good in your bathing suit. Sue Z

Thanks Sue, My 6 year old made a comment last night at Walmart about an obese woman. She looked at me and said that lady should have the surgery you had then she would be getting skinny too. God love her, she means well but sometimes I just want to crawl into the woodwork. As they say out of the mouth of Babes. Kim

Hi Kim! I wish I had enough nerve to buy a bathing suit! I am just not ready yet. I should be ready by the beginning of June. Since WLS, I am more self conscious, as if I now see fat that wasn't there before. Go figure!

I always own a swimming suit because my parents have a pool in their backyard. I never went swimming in public, not even to the beach until last year when my kids and DH wanted to go to Typhoon Lagoon. That was the most humiliating day of my life walking around an amusement park in a swimsuit. I go to water aerobics with my mom and sister and I really like it. I don't feel like I am exercising but it does seem to be working. Also, I am not the heaviest person there. I think if I were I would have stopped going after 1 session. Kim

I recently bought a bathing suit too and have all the intentions of joining a water aerobics class but am concerned about the type of people who will be there. I know I need to do this for myself but I don't want everyone staring at me cuz I'm the biggest girl there *sigh*.

That is great news Kim! Kids are so honest so you know that they are being sincere! I love it when my son critics my outfits now since he is way more honest then hubby when it comes to those matters. Hubby would rather see flesh all day long, especially now! So I always have to get a second opinion from my son! Jamie
