BREAD
The only bread I can have is comething that I can toast to a crisp. The other day I made an italian dinner and I did not want to miss out on the bread so I slices a piece real thin, drizzled EVOO on it with some spices and toasted it at 400 degrees. It tasted like a giant cruton! LOL!
I did try one of those hot rolls (1 bite) at O'Charley's and it made my tummy feel so icky! I too am craving a sandwhich or a subway sub! I am so sick of picking everything off of it and eating with a knife and fork! UGH!

Oh this morning I had a yummy "sandwhich". I took whole wheat toast (already toasted) and used a cookie cutter to cut out a hole from the middle... then I put it on a flat plate and dropped a raw egg into the whole and then I sprinkled cheese and bacon over the top. I cooked it in the microwave for like 45 sec, and then put the whole thing into the toaster over to crisp up... it was so yummy!
Brightest Blessings for a Wonderful Day~

Beth, I actually have had an egg sandwich with one slice of wheat bread. I had to toast the wheat bread but it went down well. One bite every 10 minutes. A friend of mine that has had the surgery had told me that she could only eat bread if it was toasted, so I tried this first. I also have had a few bites of a roll at a resturant. It is okay but it really is like paste, the roll that is.
We are all so different, it is just trial and error.

I've had bread on a few occasions and it's set just fine. My favorite lunch is a half of an egg salad. I don't do the WW bread or the high grain/fiber bread yet - just good old Oroweat Buttermilk. Last night we went to an italian restaurant (date night for DH and me) and had ckn canneloni, half of a half a glass of my favorite wine (barbera) and a couple bites of their bread, dipped in my wine - I was in total heaven.... ahhhhhhh.... It's nice to be able to drink my favorite wine again - my surgeon's lists for approved foods allows wine at 3 month, but no hard liquer until 6... I did get a little buzzy on the half of a half a glass, though, but it passed as quickly as it came on.
Beth,
I have tried bread on two occasions. About 2 weeks ago I ordered for breakfast an egg sandwich on whole wheat toast. I ended up eating the egg, cheese and ham out and throwing the bread away. Last night I was sooooo hungry for a hoagie so I ordered a tuna hoagie with cheese. I took one bite of the roll and that was it. I ended up eating the tuna, cheese and lettuce out of the sandwich and throwing away the roll. So far this is the only thing I have found that I can't eat. I guess I will stick to getting salads for a while yet.
