After LOSING this weight...you'd think I'd be able to shop in "regular" stores about now? hmm? NOT A CHANCE... Ok, I am 5'4" and weigh 269#......should I be able to fit into women's PLUS size Old Navy clothing? Hmm? Should I? I think so but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........ It's ruined my day, my week, and discouraged me to the point I don't wanna even go to WalMart. I NEED CLOTHES...... But the thrift stores RARELY has size 20's in a TRUE plus size... Those 20s at Old Navy were PATHETIC!!!!! I mean, my best friend went with me weighing in at 125#, and she held up a XXL (women's) T shirt and it FIT her??? WHAT? What do I do? I'm wearing jeans (hot right now) and 2 pair of running pants (stretchy) and THAT"S IT! I have to go out-of-town for a graduation next month, a Sarah Mc concert to go to on the 4th of May, and I just want to be normal. Will it ever happen? IT FEELS LIKE EVERY OTHER TIME I'VE TRIED DIETING, LOSING WEIGHT, AND STAYING AT A BIG SIZE, THEN GAINING IT ALL BACK? WILL I GAIN THIS WEIGHT BACK? This is my biggest fear.....yes I'm losing, but will it creep back on me like before? I'm so upset... Beth

Oh Beth.... Old Navy, Aeropostal, DEB and stores like that are the LAST place you want to go for clothes. Their clothing sizes are so wrong and the cuts are NOT made for real people. Heck, I am in a 14/16 and the 20s at Old Navy don't fit me! LOL! I know it is rough feeling discouraged when it comes to clothing. I have been there and I still am... I can't afford to keep replacing my clothes as fast as I am so I have one pair of jeans, one pair of capris, one pair of shorts, one skirt, on pair of slcaks, 2 nice tops, 4 tshirts and that is it! So far I love the "fitted" t-shirts at Walmart in the women's section. They are Faded Glory "Perfect Fit" and the best thing is that they are like $6 a piece. LOL! I buy the v-neck ones! I also like to shop at Fashion Bug and CATO since both have regular and plus sections and the sections tend to overlap by a few sizes. So if you need something a bit roomier you can get it on the one side, and go for something more fitted on the other! You and I are the same height Hun and I can tell you that it will still be able before you can got and try on things in those nasty stors like Old Navy... it still has the same effect on me and I am below 200! I hate going in there! So far I have only found one thing that fit and it was a pair of yoga pants! LOL! Don't get discouraged girl, you can do it! You have come so far already, keep on working out and eating right and when you have to, treat yourself to a new shirt or something. What stores do you have near you? I have become a champion shopper! I could probably point you in the right direction! Have you tried Target yet? I used to love their plus sized section! HTH! Jamie

Ok here are my few suggestions: Ross, I have found pants as cheap as $1.99, and shirts for $4.00. Check often, they always get new things and have a large plus size collection. Garage sales. Especially if you are in the low 20's you can really find some things. My freind went to one a few weeks ago and got a whole wardrobe for $15.00. Avenue. They sell plus size clothing, and can be expensive. But if you check the clearance rack you can find some deals. I have gotten slacks brand new for $9.00. Finally, consignment shops. You can trade what you have and get some new things for a low price. Jenn

Beth, Do not get discouraged. I found that even for kids Old Navy clothes don't run true to size. I shop at Walmart for most of my cheaper clothing. I like the JUST MY SIZE brand of jeans and pants. The other place I shop is the clearance rack at Fashion Bug. I don't know if you have any in your area but sometimes they have really good clearance prices. Come out from under that chair, you are doing great and soon "we" will not need to look for womans sizes anymore. Kim

Don't get disouraged. Old Navy runs small. Our old navy has plus sizes to size 26, and the 22/24s usually fit me. I am 5/5 and 265 lbs. I think the woman's plus sizes are a little bigger. I shop at Ross. You can get some great bargains there. Also check out E-bay. I have been selling my too big stuff on line so I can finance my new wardrobe. Have fun shopping, and keep up the good work. You are doing great! Margo
