still not eating much

Is any one still having a problem eating? I live mostly on protein shakes-2 a day and sometimes a protein bar never more than one. But when it comes to food number one I don't want it and the amount I can eat is very minimal. I drink almost all day long usually totaling 85-100 oz. No problem with the protein shakes or bar just real people food. I have lost 44 pounds since surgery and a total of 71 since I started this journey so not really complaining. I do have long periods that I don't loose the most 3 weeks then maybe loose a few pounds. It seems that if I don't have something hard to chew I can't chew long enough and end up feeling "icky". Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for being there every one. Peg

Hi Peg I am having the same problems sort of. I am 12 wks out today, and still have a lot of problems eating 'real' food. I also supplement with protein shakes and they are ok, but I am so tired of them. I do not drink as much as I should becuase it seems to make me have nausea. I have my 3mth check up on May 2th and boy am I looking forward to it...in a way I hope he finds something wrong, because I would hate to live like this forever. Jane -54lbs.

I had my surgery on 1-21-05 and boy let me tell ya, I can not eat food, I do not drink a lot and I stay nausated all the time. I have to go back on 5-2-05 for an upper GI again. Dr. Appel gave me some phenergan to help but when I take it, it comes right back up. I hope something gives real soon because right now I am kinda regretting haveing this surgery.
