Throwing out medicine
Isn't that a great feeling? I was able to discontinue my BP meds two weeks after surgery, and was told to only take them if my BP went above 140/90. Most days, it hovers around 130/84 but my PCP says it will come down even more as I lose more weight.
So I've got BP meds and glucophage (for PCOS) sitting in my cabinet.....can't wait to get the final clearance to throw them out completely!!

YOU GO GIRL! I felt so happy to pitch mine as well. Now the only script I have is my allegra for my allergies! It feels so good to not have to worry about all that stuff anymore doesn't it? I mean the fact that I can get out of bed in the morning without having to roll over and take pain killers and then spend the next 30 minutes stretching my joints/feet/etc... is a TOTAL BLESSING!
Heck these days I have more flexibility than I EVER remember having! Today I showed hubby how I could use the steering wheel to prop up my leg (Indian style sitting kinda thing) and read a book while waiting for my son to get out of school. hehehe...

Hey, Talking about sitting indian style on the steering wheel.....
My mom said to me" Your tummy doesn't touch the steering wheel anymore. But your husband's tummy does!"
BTW, I demonstrate stretches with my choir every week, and they noticed that I can touch the ground now(before I just touched ankles) and not just with my nail tips, but my palms!!!!!
THAT ROCKS! LOL! Everyday I look forward to stretching out, it feels so weird to be able to do the simple things like tie my own shoes, reach behind myself and grab my arms behind my thighs with my forehead resting on my thighs, touching the floor during a stretch.... stuff like that! MAN! Of the tricep stretch that you place your hand in the middle of your own back... I can do that without choaking myself with my neck fat! LOL!

You know what is funny? My sleep specialist did not believe me when I told him that I thought my insomnia might be linked to the amount of fat I was carrying around my neck. He was like, that might be true for sleep apnea but not insomnia. My thinking was that #1 I fear being strangled or sufficated, #2 if I am not comfortable or I cannot breathe why would I be able to sleep?, #3 I would keep waking up thinking I was drowning.... how do you get good sleep with that?!
It's ironic that once my neck thinned out my insomnia disappeared!
