Hi guys, I am so glad one of the board members showed me this particular site just for ppl that had surgery in Jan... I am wondering about amount of food I am eating. As I said in the main board, I seem to have this incredible craving for popcorn. I can actuallly eat a hlf of bag of microwave popcorn in one sitting. Is this normal to eat that much for a meal? Does anyone else eat popcorn. I looked at the bag and it says 3.5 ozs per bag, but it sure does pop up alot of popcorn. I am loosing weight, I mean since my surgery I have lost 60lbs, but I just don't want to blow it. A lot of ppl asked me to refer to my nutritionist, but unfortunately here in Germany they do things a little different, and the surgeon tells you to eat what you can. In fact on the third day he gave me real food. I had scrambled eggs for breakfast, and mashed potatoes for lunch, and noodles with gravy for dinner. Well, thanks for listening. Kimberly

Hi your surgen sounds a lot like mine. I was able to eat about anything that I could tolerate as long as I eat only a little. I havne't eaten popcorn but 1/2 a bag doesn't seem extrem as long as you are taking your time eating it and it doesn't have a lot of butter on it. I would save it for a snack and not as a meat though. Congrats on you weight loss..........Peggy

Hi, Kimberly! Glad you found us!!! I, too, eat popcorn and love every bite. I can eat nearly 1/2 of a normal microwave bag or nearly 1 small snack sized bag - I love popcorn. Because it settles down to nearly nothing once you've chewed the hell out of it, it doesn't take up too much room in the pouch. And, I find because it is ruffage, it keeps me regular. I usually consume a snack bag or two a week. You're doing great -- congrats on the weightloss!!! ((((skinny hugs)))) wendyb 302/251/skinny, of course! -51 FINALLY!

Sounds fine just like everyone else said. My nutrionist would rather us not eat popcorn b/c it offers little nutritional value. I love these great popcorn like items called CheddAirs and they are made by Eat Smart. I LOVE THEM, gets me over my popcorn craving and it has a good amount of protein. A serving is 3 1/2 cups! LOL! Seems like a lot but this stuff is water soluable so it does nott ake up much room at all. I typically eat 1/2 serv at the movies! Jamie

i have eaten the fat free bags of popcorn about 1-2 times a week and i feel i am still on track, i am down 68 lbs since 1/26/05....popcorn does not have all the vitamins our docters would like us to get from a meal or snack but if everything else is going good...it is surely better than many other things we could nibble on...so cvount me as pro popcorn....take care and i wish you continued success....i was in mannhiem for 18 months....just love germany...great memories
