3 month checkup
Dear Michelle,
I am 10 1/2 weeks out and have lost 35 lbs, so don't feel alone. And most of those were lost in the first 6 weeks. I have posted here about my plateau, and I've tried increasing protein, water. I've gotten my carbs down to under 5 grams a day. That didn't work, so I decreased my protein shake(saving about 200 calories a day, and went to all protein by ingesting egg, tuna, salmon, etc. getting my calories down to 500-600. Still the scale leers at me everytime I step on it, laughing.......
The people on here are so helpful, but my body is just not reacting like theirs to the suggestions. We will have to go on, try and keep our spirits up, and realize this is NOT reversible, so plug ahead. I'll keep you in mind and check with you in about a month. In the meantime, congratulate yourself for having the gumption to try and reverse your situation, and keep the faith that you will be rewarded in the end.
Dianne
Hi Michelle,
I am 3 months post op and I have lost 47 pounds . I am very pleased with my weight loss. Are you exercising? I am exercising about 6 days a week(cardio and weight training). Exercising will help with weight loss. Hang in there and rememeber I bodies are going through alot of changes. The weight will come off. Look ahead to the summer months and think how small we will be
Thinner days are ahead!
Take care

Do you know what we are called? Slow Losers! Not that there is anything wrong with that but that is what we are. I have lost a total of 39 lbs as of today's date. Am I happy? NO. Actually it is very frustating when you see people that had surgery the same month or day as us and there they are 60 lbs etc out and there we are in the 30's.
Makes a person want to scream! I finally come to the realization that my body is going to do what it wants to like yours and that we should be happy that we have not gained weight and that at least we are losing. Maybe alot slower then some but that is ok. I know if I had not had the surgery I would probably be another 5 or 10 lbs heavier.
So dont get discouraged think happy thoughts! , Good luck with your journey!
That is a really good way to look at it girl! Keep up the positive outlook!
Brightest Blessings for a Wonderful Day~

I had my three month check up yesterday (of course it was a week and a half early but anyways... I have not heard back from the doc about my labs yet but typically no news is good news with him. I am down 56 pounds and feeling great! I fit comfortably (with a little bit of room to spare) into a 14/16 on top and bottom! I went to CATOs the other day and actually bought two shirts in a size "L" from the misses side of the store instead of the PLUS side!!! WHOO-HOO! I screamed out when I was able to button it and the ladies came running to see what was the matter. I had to show them my military ID b/c they did not believe I was ever as big as I was claiming. Hehehe.... My bathing is is a 12/14 and GOD does that feel awesome! Today I was able to do laps for over 40 minutes and I was even able to race someone! YEAH BABY!
