What brand/kind of vitamins are you taking?
I fully understand the importance of vitamin supplementation. A friend of mine had her distal RNY in 1997 and failed to keep up a good vitamin regimen -- she has suffered -- really suffered from not adhering to the vitamin supplementation with severe neuropathy, which ended in being in a wheelchair for a year, and now has a mirad of other issues pertaining to not doing what she was told to do -- so ladies/gents -- strictly adhere to your vitamin supplementation -- it's not an option!
Here's what I enjoy right now: Bariatric Advantage chewables
2 multi orange flavored
4 calcium 2 cin. 2 mint
1 strawberry iron
1 flavored b-12
All of this is daily... So a word of caution -- DON'T FORGET YOUR VITAMIN SUPPLEMENTATION And tell us what you are taking, i.e., brand and how many.

I really wonder about this. My dr says that all I need is a good (1) multiple vitamin and (2) calcium. I don't feel this is enough from what others say and I really worry about it. He just says that we should be getting enough from what we eat.
What is the bariatric advantage and where do you get it? I think I may just have to take matters into my own hands for this one. >>>>>>>>>>>>>.Peggy
Hi! I had my lap rny of January 10, 2005, and for some strange reason my doctor told me to take 2 multi-vitamins everyday, but I have only been taking 1. I must have had a "senior moment"!
In checking with him the other day, he told me that I should be taking 2 multi-vitamins everyday. So I have altered my vitamin intake. Hopefully,
I haven't done too much damage. Although, I know I am battling my second sinus infection since last month.
I take the Silver Centrum Multi-Vitamin. They are quite large, so I cut them in half with a pill cutter.
Hope this helps!
Aloha, Pat
I take a centrum"s multivitamin with iron
2 hair, skin and nail vitamin from gnc
2 calcium citrates
I was taking a nature made womens 50+ altho I'm 48 and started feeling really tired and grumpy. Found out it didnt contain iron and switched to centrum's with iron and now feel much better, so make sure your multi contains iron!! Carolyn Faye
I take:
2 Bariatric Advantabe chewable orange multi
2 Bariatric Advantage chewable cinnamon calcium citrate (400mg each)
1 Tbsp liquid calcium citrate w/magnesium (600 mg)
sublingual B-12 3X/week
When I go for my 3 month followup next month, I'll get the full regimen prescribed for me.

Centrum chewables and b12 1000 mg QD...Also another chewable I can't think of at the moment. My vitamins have iron in them already..and i take a supplement as well. I don't enjoy my vitamins...:puke: but they are tolerable. I also use Estroven calcium gum chewed well and with focus and care not to swallow.

I use Bariatric Advantage for now. They really make me sick, even just to see them makes me nauseous. I will switch to a swallow vitamin combination just as soon as my surgeon allows. The iron also causes stomach upset and constipation, so I now eat it with my meal, which only helps somewhat.
After breakfast: Multivitamin and calcium
With lunch: Iron
After dinner: Multivitamin and calcium
With evening snack: Iron
I also give myself B12 injection once a month.
