I do this on the Alabama boards sometimes, but I think it's suffice to do it here with my fellow Januarians...What do yall think? If yall dont' wanna play daily, we could do it weekly...JUST a thought to give each other some sort of idea where we each are in our daily eating habits, and you can also throw in the exercise and fluid intakes, as well...I might not can do this everyday, so feel free to continue the threads daily if you all prefer Here is what I have had so far, and plan on having today: B-1 sugar free Jell-O pudding (chocolate) with one spoonful of Unjury Unflavored protein powder S-about ten hot peanuts L-nothing yet, maybe some southwestern chicken chili from Jason's Deli S-? maybe a cheese stick and 2 saltines D-? no idea... *I'm going to find some ISOPURE protein drinks. They have 40g of protein in them, and I've had them (Grape Frost and Alpine Punch) and they are GREAT! No bitterness, no weird tastes, just like sugar free koolaid in my opinion... but they're $3.50 a bottle at GNC, and $40 per case (12 bottles)!~ Very pricey, but easy way to drink your protein without the thick shakes Fluid: so far, 25oz of s/f tea I walked (for work purposes) over 5 mi yesterday in a 6.5hour time frame and whew! I'm so sore today! Have a great day! Beth in bama

Good morning, Beth -- well at least it's still morning here in Sunny Cali I'd love to do this with you on a daily basis -- gives us all a chance to show and tell what we are doing eating-wise. Someone posts this type of a thread daily on the Cali board and it's a great tool -- so, I for one, vote YES -- keep it coming, My Friend! I love the orange flavored Isopure drinks. I agree, they are quite expensive, but a wonderful protein source for the bang B: 1/2 Nancy's quiche w/1tb sour cream and 2 tb cottage cheese. S: "planned" Atkins cafe au lait protein shake L: "planned" Leftover ham fettuccini alfredo D: I have no idea?!? But will post to tomorrow's post as LND (last night's dinner) Water: 1 16oz Fruit2-0 (lemon) Vits: 1 multi, 1 b-12 sl so far

I think it's a great idea to do this thread daily! It really helps to see what and how other people are eating especially because my pouch is tempermental and some days I can only do liquids & soft foods over solids. I'm so envious of those of you who can eat chicken!! Today I've had: B - protein shake (20 grams) Sn - 6 oz sf, nonfat yogurt w/protein powder (12 grams) Ln - oatmeal w/protein powder (15 grams) Sn - 6 pretzel sticks w/cheese dip (2 grams) Dn - will try to eat some chili Sn - peanut butter protein ball (10 grams) This will still leave me short of the required 80 grams my surgeon wants me to have daily, so will have to squeeze in a protein shake or some CC milk tonight. Fluids so far: 20 oz water 12 oz decaf tea 10 oz Welch's Low Cal white grape raspberry juice Still need to get more in.....I've really been struggling with getting 64 z daily. Does anyone know, can we count our protein shakes as part of the fluid count? Mary Ellen Highest weight: 280 Surgery weight: 255 Current weight: 219.5

Mary Ellen: My doc said that the shakes should not be counted as fluid.

WOW, Melissa -- I am sooooo IMPRESSED with your fluid intake, girl -- you're doing GREAT!!! Wish I would follow in your shoes. I'm gonna have to try that crystal lite stuff -- I see lots of people simply rave about it. I, too, struggle every day regarding protein -- I can never get enough in with food. In fact, I decided to re-read my physician's instructions -- well, it states "60-80" grams protein through supplements -- that was an ahhhhhh moment for sure. I guess it's back to the Atkins shakes -- I, too, love those things and can't beat the 20/21 grams protein in 11 oz of fluid - perfect, I think.
