Work?
Yes I went back to work from home 8 hrs daily day 4 after surgery, and sent two weeks working from home. I went back to the office 14 days after surgery. BUT I am very tired and have been for so long, even before surgery, so I guess that is how I handle it. I typically work from 6:30am to 4pm daily without taking a lunch, so it is a long day for me. I wish for the days when I have some energy because my house is a pig stye, but all my energy goes to the office. I have begun to take B-12 but I hear it takes months before you notice if it helps.
I look forward to other responses on this topic.

I have benn taking b-12 since week 2. I also went back to work week 2. I think I may not be getting in enough protein to keep my energy up. I strugle to make it to 60 grams a day. I just can not eat enough to get it in. I am lucky that I have a completely understanding boss that has let me work three days for now. I just do not want this to last much longer. I am tired of being tired.

I too have been having trouble with my energy level. I work at home doing medical transcription, which is mostly sedentary, sitting at the computer the whole time. I have not been able to work my full hours because I have no energy and no patience to deal with all the stress (it is a very stressful job, even though I do it from home). I am not sleeping more than 4 to 6 hours at night and am dragging all day. This is effecting whether I get out and exercise too. A friend of mine says that exercising will give me energy throughout the day--not so with me, I am exhausted after I exercise, but am still pushing myself to at least walk.
Most of the other posts I have read make it sound like just about everyone else is having an energy spurt and have increased energy at this point after surgery. I have been discouraged, but feel a little better knowing that I am not the only one having this problem. Hopefully, we will both get improved energy soon and be back to working more (and making more money) and exercising more in my case! Good luck.

I also work at home doing medical transcription and took a total of six weeks off with the help of my wonderful DH and staff. I was in the hospital for 3+ of those weeks, and then pretty much in bed for the next two. I still take a 2-hour nap daily and feel refreshed afterwards. I have been very neglegent with my vitamins the past two weeks (week before was on a camping vacation and have not put the vits back on my desk -- which reminds me - running upstairs to get the bag - thank you!). I do know that I feel much better with the following vitamin regimen...
Bariatric Advantage chewables:
2 multi
4 calciums
1 iron
1 b-12

I don't work but I do go to college full time, volunteer locally part time, and I am a SAHM. I have been fortunate not to have too much problems with my energy level. I make sure to get in my water and protein (believe it or not, dyhydration witll make you sleepy) and I started taking b-12, folic acid, multivitmins, calcium, and biotin almost 4 months prior to surgery so it is a regiment of supplements that I have been on for a while. I think that is part of the reason why I bounced back so well. Another thing is that I make time to exercise. If it means getting up 30 minutes earlier to start my day with a 25 minute stretching routine, then so be it. I find exercise everywhere.... like when I do errands, I park FAR AWAY from the building and briskly walk to the building. When I grocery shop my hubby or son pushes the cart and I carry a basket. I fill the basket and once it is full I find the boys, put the stuff in the cart and go back out for more groceries. Speakign of groceries, they make great weights! Have you ever tried taking two cans of juicy juice and lift them doing arm curls or presses? IT works nicely! When I am cleaning house I blast the radio and DANCE as I clean! You can burn a lot of calories doing that! (If you embarass easily make sure you draw the shades...lol!) At night I walk the dogs around the block with some other ladies. My neighbor just joined us and she does not have a dog so she borrows one from across the street... they love it b/c they don't have to walk their own dog!
HTH!
Brightest Blessings for a Wonderful Day~
