Starting to feel better - maybe it was mild dehydration ??

So it's been almost 4 wks since I began feeling the constant nausea. I just happened to go to my support group on Thursday nite, and one two other people showed up! But the gentleman I spoke to mentioned how he was put back into the hospital due to dehaydration. He mentioned his symtoms which lead me to believe I might have had a mild form of dehydration. I know that I was not drinking enough because each time I tried it made me so sick, a nasty cycle of events. Prior to surgery I use to drink approx 150 oz of water daily, plusa diet coke or two. Now I can barely drink 64oz of fluids, and during the 4 wk period doubt I got more than 38 to 42 oz in per day. The nausea seems to have passed somewhat, but I am still on soft foods instead of trying to eat chicken or more solid things. I am going to give it another week, then maybe try something more solid. For now I am just happy I seem to be able to get the water down without that terrible tummy ache I had before. Maybe now my weight loss will pick up. I hope so. Jane 8 wks post op -45

I'm having a similar problem with nausea but only once a week or so. I'm just hoping it passes soon because everyday it happens, I can't eat or drink anything, not even a popcycle for about 16 hours. I'm drinking my water at room temp and that seems to help. The cold stuff just doesn't do it for me. Like you I also drank a lot of water and other stuff before surgery so I'm feeling a little deprived on those days. Good luck and I hope the worst has passed for you. Pat 329.5/263.5/150
