Hi Stacy! I had lap rny on January 10th. Is your doctor recommending 100 grams of protein or is that a goal that you've set for yourself? I'm not trying to doubt your requirements, but my surgeon requires that his patients get 70 grams per day and this will be for the rest of my life. It's a coincidence, but I also drink the Isopure Dutch Chocolate Protein Powder from GNC. I know what you mean by it is very expensive. I feel that if I need to take it I it better be something that tastes good. Maybe, this will help you in cutting down the cost, I found that if I purchase the 7-1/2 pound bucket instead of the 3 pound box during the first 7 days of the month I could save quite a bit. It's normally $89.99 (yikes!) but is normally 25% off and if you add the additional 20% off at the beginning of the month you end up only paying $54.00 for the 7-1/2 pound box which lasts me over 1-1/2 months. I use 2-1/2 scoops per day to get in my 70 grams. I hope this helps. Aloha, Pat

Hi Pat, it's Pat. Just noticed you're from Kaenohe. My daughter is there right now waiting for her husband to come back from Iraq. Just wanted to say hi.

I have resorted to Atkins shakes..they are good cold.....and I try to catch them on sale..for about a buck a piece...I also use a good protein powder with CC milk and Splenda...it's vanilla and tastes like ice cream when I do this. I can get in about 60 g eating..but not the rest of it..and since I upped protein..I AM losing faster. Sher'

My nutrionist told me to get between 60 & 70 grams of protein per day. Now that I can eat some real food again, I went back to the protein bars I was eating preop. I get them at Costco. They cost $19.99 per package. There are 24 bars (3 different flavors) per package. Depending on the flavor, they have 30-31 grams of protein per bar making them great for snacks. I sometimes eat a whole one for breakfast and others for snack. Each bar is 2.5 oz. If I eat one for a snack, it is only a half. My point is that 2 of these per day equal out my minimum protein. Here is the rest of the nutritional information on the Double Chocolate Crunch bar: Total fat 8 g Sat. fat 5 g trans fat 0 Cholesterol 5mg Sodium 170 mg Potassium 150mg Phosphorous 150mg Total Carbs 23 g Dietary Fiber 2 Sugars 8g Sugar alcohol 5g Protein 30g The flavors are: Double Chocolate Crunch, Yogurt Peanut Crunch and Chocolate Peanutbutter Crunch. The brand name is Premier. I have not checked the net to see if you can get them on line. Hope this info helps. It sure did for me.
