I went to the doctor yesterday and asked her about vomiting too. I am cleared for solid food but my stomach wants to empty itself everytime I do. She said that I too might have your same problem as you but she also said that I should time myself to take at least 30 minutes per 1/2 cup of food and wait upto 9 minutes for the next bite. I told her I would time myself and make an appointment with her if the problem continued. Hope everything goes well with you.

Hello Candace, Here is my experience with having a stricture, I went to my 1 month check up and was explaining to my Dr that I was having a hard time getting my pills to go down and some foods would get stuck and make me throw up, that very afternoon I found myself in a GI Dr office having my first of 3 scopes done to open a stricture. They put a small I.V. in, to give you meds that really relax you and make it where you dont remember or feel anything, the Dr will place a long tube that has a camera on the end of it down your throat and check out your new pouch, if you do have a stricture he will insert a little balloon and stretch open the stricture, the EDG itself only takes about 10-15 mins. You will feel much better after its done and your able to keep things down. let me know if you have anymore questions God Bless Kelly 311/271 -40 lbs

I had the procedure and I did have a stricture. I feel 100% better now. Thanks for the information and encouragement. I was able to get food in up until 3 weeks ago and when I would eat it would come back up not to mention not being able to get the water in. 282/219 -63lbs / goal 145

At 4 weeks post op, I started to have problems following foods that I had previously has no trouble swallowing. I also started to have problems swallowing my meds. I had to start cutting my tablets in 1/4's and went back on liquids about 3 weeks ago..... I have an appt with my dr this week to arrange for my scope. I already had an Upper GI, which showed that I have some stricture.....I CAN'T wait to have the scope and correct the problem. Then eat "REAL FOOD" again!!! Candace...Good luck with your scope. I have heard that it is not that bad. God Bless.......Lanie
