Plateau
Oh, yeah.........I had my plateau at 3 to 4 weeks. I went from losing 22 lbs. in 2 weeks to nothing. Then, finally, I lost 5 lbs. Now I lose about 5 lbs. a week. It seems like everyone on this site has been through this.
I read about it all the time. A lot of people say it comes around the 4th week, but I have seen all different ones, too. Two things you can do if you feel you want some control: Eat more protein. If you don't eat enough, your body stops losing. Get some powder and make a milk shake with sugar free ice cream and add in 2 scoops of powder. Flavor can be chocolate, banana, peach, whatever! Also, increase your exercise.
Walk more, lose more.
Good Luck!

P.S. Weigh only once every two weeks and always at the docs office or on a reputable scale. I had a bad scale for a while.
I am stalled right now, and tomorrow will be eight weeks out for me. I reached 330 a week and half ago, and so far I haven't lost anymore. But I also haven't been exercising everyday like I was (struggling with depression pretty badly right now).
I know how discouraging it is. I'm wondering why the weight loss came so fast and just kind of stopped all of the sudden. I don't have any real answers, but I understand.

Yeah, every other week I loose 1 lb and then the odd weeks I loose 3-4 lbs. It is weird! Probably b/c I am exercising my butt off literally! LOL!

Hi,
I am in the same boat. Surgery 1/5/05. I think I have lost about 30 lbs but the scale has not moved for 2 wks. I am really getting upset. BUT when I found you guys have the same problem, I feel better. If spring would just get here I know I would feel better. It is still so COLD and snowy here in West PA. Thanks for being here. Its good to know you are not alone.

This board has been so helpful, and especially so tonight! I'm at a plateau too, have been for two weeks. You want to pull your hair out(but then I hear it's going to be falling out soon enough)! You start doubting everything you're doing, eating too little, too much, too much protein, do I need more, did the doctor really give me a pouch???? But then, you come on the community board, and across the country, there are people who are experiencing the same thing. You feel like all is not in vain, and pull yourself up and prepare to face tomorrow with more resolve.
I think you and I will start losing again soon. I'll email you when the scales move, and keep me posted with your weight loss.
