6 weeks out today!!
Hello,
I just wanted to post and let everyone know that I am doing very well. I had open on Jan. 25, 2005. My incision is almost healed, just a few spots with scabs still there. It has definately been a journey that is for sure but it is so worth it to me right now. I got on the scale and as of today I have lost 31 pounds!! I am so excited about that and I can hardly believe that I have lost that much so far. I read alot about people that worry that they aren't losing as fast as others but for me I am just happy to be losing. I have learned from some friends that I shouldn't compare myself to others because it could just bring me down. So I am not comparing myself, I am just going to be me and be happy with how it comes off.
I do believe that you cannot be totally prepared for this surgery and all it brings. My emotions have been all over the place and some days are harder than others. It has been alot better for me the more I can move around. I go to the Doctor today for my 6 week check up and I have wrote down some questions for him.
Okay thanks for listening!!!!
Go and have a wonderful day!!

Isn't it a relief? I managed to get the surgery BEFORE becomiong a diabetic, but after surgery I spent 3 days getting those darn shots. You know my poor belly had so many holes in it post-op and it was not from the surgery! LOL! My incisions healed better than my "war wounds" from insulin shots and blood thinners and diarettics! LOL!
Keep up the great work girl! Have you hit the gym or pool yet?

OH MY GOD Becky.............You made my day!!! I came to this specific site because I was so bummed that I'd only lost 31lbs in 6 weeks, and the first post I read was yours!! I guess we are doing fine. Sorry to compare myself, it's so hard not to. I feel as though I'm doing all the right things and sometimes the darn scale just won't move. I guess we just keep plugging along. Congrats you to you!!
Sincerely,
Sharon
Sharon, I am so glad that I could make someone's day!!! Don't be down about your weight loss, when did you ever lose 31 pounds in 6 weeks before?? Most likely never if you are like me. I bet you are doing the right things. Definately keep plugging along and the weight will come off. Keep up the good work!!! Keep me posted!
Keep doing your best on your new journey!!
Thanks for replying!
