Hi Debby, If you go to GNC they have a lot of stuff. They even have a drink that looks like cool-aid called Isopure. If you go to www.allthewhey.com you can order the unflavored protein powders or other flavors. I also like the pre mixed protein drinks at Walmart/Eckerds called Advant Edge because they're convenient and the taste is much better. If you get the unflavored powder then you can add it to anything. Hope this helps, Syndi

I have been told by my nutritionist that I am in starvation mode because I am not getting enough protein generally under 30 grams per day. I went to GNC last eve for some of the unflavored protein powder---they did not have any. The girl there did recommend the Pinapple,Orange, Banana flavor No Carb. Well the instructions said mix with water wait 10 minutes before you drink. UGGGGH it does not desolve there are just big chunks of white powder in a glass of water. Does any one have any suggestions. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. Peg

Debby, Try BariatricEating.com also. My fav's are ProPlete Gold Banana Cream and Elite Choc. Mint ( makes a great creamy hot choc.) But Syndi recommended the flavorless protein to me too and it was the best thing I did for my intake b/c you can add it to your meals to increase intake with no bad taste. Good luck, Pat 348/305

Hi Debby! I have tried several protein powders and drinks. So far the best is Perfect Zero Carb Isopure(available at GNC) with 50 grams of protein and it is vanilla flavored. Every morning I make a smoothie and drink it on the way to work. I have been using the recipes in Susan Maria's book. I found the book at Barnes & Nobles(also on bariatriceating.com). It has wonderful recipes for smoothies and several other meals and desserts. An example of my smoothie would be as follows: 1/2 cup skim milk 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder 2 scoops Isopure 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup ice 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring and just because I like it sweet a teaspoon of equal or splenda. Hope this helps because it sure did me!! I was having a very hard time getting my protein in an this has made it so much easier!! Good luck!! Cindy

Hi Debby! I had my lap rny on January 10th and have been drinking the Isopure Dutch Chocolate Protein Drink. My surgeon wants me to have at least 70 gms. of protein. What I do is make a smoothie, I use 2-1/2 scoops of powder, crushed ice and approximately 18 oz. of water. Sometimes, I'll even add a scoop of Carb Smart ice cream to make it a little richer. This amount equals 70 gms. of protein. So I'm getting my requirement plus the protein that I am also eating during the day. If you like chocolate, you'll love this flavor! Otherwise, it comes in vanilla and I believe strawberry. Hope this helps! Pat

Hi Debbie!! This is a popular post on the main message board and here's the popular response. NECTAR, by Syntrax. They have some great flavors like Fuzzy Navel and Crystal Sky and you add it to water so it's not heavy at all. I use 1.5 scoops per shake and add 16 to 20 ozs of water. Shake and drink. (I have a thing with not purchasing anything that forces me to use my blender.) It's a little like drinking koolaid I guess. I can get these at the Vitamin Shoppe for around $29.00 per tub. I drink 2 shakes a day for 66grms of protein, then have around 24 in carb countdown milk, and maybe 10 to 20 in food. Plenty of protein makes a happy happy girl. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Sharon

Vitalady.com and BariatricEating.com are both EXCELLENT websites for ordering proteins. Best of all they both offer VERY cheap samples and you can try things for yourself before ordering big tubs! Both websites also offer very competitive pricing! My absolute favorite is unjury.com (add www.). They have unflavored, chocolate and vanilla. They are not gritty, mix very well and the chocolate is great as hot chocolate. Warm liquids are easier for me to drink then cold. I warm the milk up first in the micro then add a scoop or 1½ scoops depending on how much protein I want to get and it is awesome. 1 scoop = 20g protein + skim milk 8g = 28g TOTAL. I would say it is definitely one of the better ones out there. ~ Jen
