Got the flu AND the blues!
I am sitting at my computer with a blanket wrapped around me for the chills, tissues for the drips, and Sprite for my tummy. Yes, SPRITE! It is the only thing that doesn't come back up. Sugar and carbonated and all!!!! Go figure! I feel really down.
Here is my question:
Are we able to eat prime rib after the regular food faze? It is protein, very chewable (a good one melts in your mouth), and I read somewhere that the superior cuts of meat were easier to digest. I know I could never finish a 6 oz. in one sitting, but I can get a pooch pouch to take home the left overs. I ordered a French dip sandwich the other day and got funny looks from everyone when I chucked the bread and ate the beef dipped into the juice. One woman asked me if I was on Atkins!
I said no, I was a baby and learning to eat. She smiled, looked at my husband with sympathy and left.

Don't know the answer to your question, but I hope someone answers because I would like to know too, as prime rib is something I would love to eat, say Easter Sunday or so. My doctor wants me to stay with a pureed diet through 6 weeks, but gosh, I'm getting cravings for certain things. Sprite-wow-you're lucky! And the French dip----I'm getting me one in a week, and try it. Haven't tried beef of any kind, not even pureed, but I'm game!
Good luck with everything.

p.s. I had the flu too, second week out, and it's no fun. Sympathy!
YUck huh. I had the flu 8 days out and man it was no fun. you know around that time we were still in recovery..... im sorry you feel so bad.
I will be six weeks out tuesday, and i eat soft foods, they go down better.
chicken just aint cuttin it . I get so sick when I eat chicken. ground beef is much easier for me. so I suppose if ground beef is ok than prime rib is ok????????? by the way how the heck are you drinking sprite????? doesn't that have wayyy to much sugar? and way carbonation? just curious. did your doctor say to go for it?
No, my doc did not clear the sprite. I could not reach him on the weekend. I was desperate for a beverage that would stay down. I do NOT recommend it to anyone else. Today, I switched to diet sugar free, but it came up in 30 seconds. Must be the artificial sweetners. Anyway, I sip it really slowly and only drink a few ounces a day. Since water and every other beverage comes up, the only other choice is the emergency room and an iv. I'll take a chance on the Sprite. BTW, I am better today; no fever or nausea. Tomorrow is my birthday.
