Pills get stuck sometimes
Hi Everyone
Well I am 1 month and 5 days out from surgery and sometimes when I take the cod liver gel caps they get stuck and OMG does it hurt
Does this happen to anyone? Other than that for the most part my foods goes down well, sometimes eggs get stuck so I dont eat them often. How much food should we be eating at this stage? I am still eating 1/2 c at meals and I make sure I measure all my meals. Also is anyone really tired all the time? I think my iron must be low, I just have no energy at all. Sorry for the book I just wrote. Any help would be great, and I am glad everyone seems to be doing well.
Thanks
Mary
Hi Mary,
I know exactly where your coming from. I think we are all eating the same amount as you and I know I'm tired. Are you taking your B12? If you read some of the logs over the past few days we've all been asking what each other what everyone is eating and drinking. I think we're all running out of ideas for variations in our meals, I know I am. This message board is terrific and everyone is there for you when you really need it. Take Care,

Hi Mary,
I know what you mean about the pills getting stuck sometimes. I have tried taking them at different times of the day. After much experimenting, I found that I tolerate them better in the evenings. (Be sure to check with your doctor or nutritionist if you continue to have problems). Try concentrating and going very slow when swallowing. Regarding how much we should be eating at this stage??? My guidlines from the hospital say:
Eat 1-2 ounces (2-4 tablespoons) at each meal
Continue drinking liquids between meals (remember to sip, sip, sip). Allow 30 to 60mins between taking in food and liquids. Never eat and drink at the same time. YOU MUST TAKE IN 60 grams of protein a day. You will feel very tired and feel like you want to take cat naps a lot. Be sure that you are taking in the proper vitamin supplements particularly B-12 and protein. I noticed that each day (slowly) I have more energy than the day before. Take those naps when you need to. GOOD Luck to YOU!

Mary,
I've just stopped crushing my pills, and I'm 5 weeks out. I think I'm between 1/2 and 3/4 cup of food at meals, but I rarely snack. Just the 3 meals a day. Maybe I'm doing that all wrong. I was interested in your cod liver gel caps. I'm in Alabama, and no one on our board nor my doctor mentioned taking those. How much do you take, and why does your doctor have you doing it. I take multi vitamins, calcium citrate, B12, and iron. I will take anything that will give me more energy, and help the weight loss.
Dianne
p.s. I was anemic, but have gotten my iron up a little in the last two weeks, and boy it helped.
Hi Dianne
My doctor has all of her patients take the Cod liver gel caps to help with making sure we are getting enough of vitiamins A&D plus they say it helps with the dry hair and dry skin, however I can say it has not helped with my dry skin.I also take the multi vitamin, calcium, B12, no iron but I really think I should be because I am still so tired and have no energy at all. What kind of iron do you buy? I heard there is one that is non consapating (spelled wrong). Well atleast my food intake seems normal. I was told 3 meals and 2 snacks if needed, somedays I need them others I do go to get in my 3 meals.
Good luck in your weight loss.
