I had my surgery on Jan.3,...and after reading all the posts, I feel like something is wrong...I can eat just about anything and I've never thrown up. However I am losing, but knowing I can eat anything is bothering me...I do go back to the dr. on the 3rd of March and hopefully he will tighten that sucker up so i can eat less...Im afraid I will gain back what i've lost (37pounds). Any suggestions, anyone???

Hi, I had my surgery on Jan 4 and sometimes I'm afraid that I have stretched my pouch. I can eat four ounces of chicken in one meal with no problem. When I had fish last Friday I must have eaten it to fast because I did vomit. I have been avoiding that at all costs thinking that it would be just a horrible experience. When I had the fish I had terrible pain and heart burn in my chest for about half of an hour and just kept swallowing and trying so hard to keep it down. I lost the battle and vomited and felt 100% better when I did! So if that ever happens again I will not fight it at all. The lesson learned is to eat slowly and just let my body do what it's supposed to do. I have lost 47 lbs so far so that part is good. I'm going to the doctors on Monday and I will tell on my self about eating four ounces at once. I know this probably doesn't help you at all but I needed to admit this to everyone. I suggest that you tell your doctor about your concerns but from what you wrote I don't think your doing anything wrong. This surgery effects everyone so differently. Good luck to you Anne B

I'm not sure why you're worried about eating 4ozs. I have eaten 4 ozs since the beginning & was told this was ok. Maybe I should be worried.

Don't stress girl, post of us are RNY patients that is why you have not had the same problems that we have. When you have Lap Band surgery the ring goes on your stomach but it is empty. Once they put saline in it to tighten it you will feel the fullness and expierence some of the same problems we have. Since our surgeries are so different we have different time tables and signs and symptoms. HTH!
