OK, I am a bit nervous!

Alright, I admit it... I am about progressing to the final stage (regular food). I had my 1 month check up today (it has actually been 5 1/2 weeks) and my doc OKed me to progress again. He said that I am doing really well, my scar is healing nicely, and I have energy to spare. He reminded me to avoid lifting weights until another 2 weeks but otherwise gave me the green light to return to normal life. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to get the green light but I am so nervous since I have read such conflicting information about post-operative diets. Like the folks at the neighboring hospital are on liquids for 6-8 weeks before moving to puree. SO I asked my doc about it and he said that there is no physiological reason to be on liquids that long and that I should not worry. He just reminded me to eat very small portions and eat three times a day. WHAT?! 3 meals? I thought it was 3 meals and 2 snacks! That is what the nutritionist told us! So then he told me that only during stage 1 & 2 do we get to snack, then we have to "break the habit" before our portion sizes grow and then we can't break it. So bad me... now I have to quit snacking. However I did ask him about at least one snack b/c my schedule leaves a HUGE block between breakfast and lunch and after I work out I am STARVING. So he gave me the OK to do a protein drink or something along those lines, but no "snacking." So what the heck do you call that... an intermediary meal? LOL! Heck, I don't care I am just glad that I can get in a smoothie or something cuz after a good workout I am so hungry and thirsty! Anyways, so here I sit eating my BOCA chicken fried chicken with white gravy.... it actually does not taste that bad and best of all I don't have to chew it to death. A few chews and it is mush! I guess that is due to the soy products in it or something?! LOL! I actually do not want to know what is in it, it tastes OK and has tons of protein, that is all I care about. However I think next time I make my own gravy, this one sucks! LOL! Well at night before bed I walk the doglets (I have two doxies... hence the dog-lets... small dogs, get it? LOL!) OK I admit, that was cheesy! Anyways, I walk the dogs at night and then I hit the sac. During the day when my son is at school I go swimming or I go do the treadmill. I have not been cleared for weights yet but as soon as I am, I am gonna hit the iron to tone up. My goal is to swim six days a week but I have to work up to it since I am off my asthma meds now. I will eventually go take Belly Dancing or join my hubby and son in TaeKwanDo once I am cleared for "weights."
