I am a little bit concerned about the amount of time that I should be excercising. I had RNY on 1/18/05 and I just now went back to work on Monday. I am just getting my energy back. Yesterday I did 1 mile on the treadmill at my gym. Today I did 1.5 miles. Is that normal or should I try to be doing more? Marisa Guevara ~ RNY 1/18/05 -30 LBS

my knees and legs were giving me tons of pain--which is why I decided to have the surgery. I'm not exercising yet until I lose some more weight. Of course I'm 56 so I've decided I am not going to start my knees hurting again...so far I've lost 10 lbs and that is with the lap band unfilled, so I'm pretty happy. Gail

HI Marisa, I go to the gym 5 days a week. On MWF I do 20 min eliptical machine and 10 min treadmill then strength training 3 circuits with 10/15/20 lbs. Then on T/TH I do just the cardio but I up the total time to 45 minutes. It has worked great for me since I strted it 2 weeks ago I have lost 12 lbs and I feel better and have more energy. I just have to make sure that I keep my protein and water up so I don't get dehydrated and tired. Good luck to you this is my routine per my personal trainer. B lap rny 1/06/05 309/266/whatever I can get to and still look healthy -43lbs forever!!!!!
