Don't panic. I am 3 weeks post op and lost 29 lbs and then gained back 3 and haven't lost any in a couple of days. I am staying very strick with the food plan. I believe this is normal. Our bodies are adjusting to all the major changes we have done to it. Be sure to eat everything on your food plan. If you are not eating enough your body could go into a starvation mode and hold on to the weight and not lose. Be sure to exercise. I am no expert. This is just what information I have obtained during my research and reading on the website of others experiencing this. Good Luck. God Bless. Karen

Lou Ann, I have to agree - don't panic. This surgery works! Do you have a support group or a nutritional group to go to? If so check with them. There could be SO many reasons - your time of the month, dehydration, not eating enough or too much, not getting enough exercise, not getting enough protein, etc. I gained a few pounds a couple of weeks ago when I wasn't getting enough liquids in and I was dehydrated. Again there are many reasons why it could happen but it isn't permanent. If you have a support group there check with them and they will ask questions and help you get to the bottom of it. Elaine

I am right there with you, I have gained 3.5 lbs. My PCM just called me and had me come in for a check up since my surgeon is deployed and he said that I am dehydrated and since I had to go back to liquids my body is tryingt o "hold onto" the nutrients and calories I was eating. Or something to that matter, so now I have been ordered to drink, drink, drink and to take it easy until I can get back into my soft stage again. OYE! LOL! Honey, Your barely eating thats your problem You need to get in a minimum of 900 calories a day or your body will start conserving everything, especially fat. Also drink drink drink or you won't lose any, in fact you'll gain water weight. i am so sorry for this little bump but on this diet their is NO WAY you won't lose weight. The question is how much and how fast and that is up to you my dear. Food, water and exercise thats the answer-Good Luck B

You owe me a popsicle! Today, I found out that my scale is defective! It now says that I have gained 10 lbs. in one day! Cheap scale! I tossed it. From now on, I weigh at my doctor's appointments only! Whew! For the last week, I have been starving myself and exercising to get rid of those phantom lbs. I guess I will really have something to celebrate on my next doctor's visit on March 1st. My birthday, incidentally. Lou Ann

Don't you just hate cheap scales?! LOL! I bought a really nice digital one from Target several years ago and it has a nifty "zeroing" feature so that the scale can be taken back to zero and given new life. Last week hubby kicked the scale over and when I jumped on it said that I gained 10 lbs... I almost faited! Then I remembered to rezero it and poof, I had a loss! LOL! Today I weighed at the docs. Have lost 10 more lbs!!!!!!! My scale is junk. I tossed it today. It said I GAINED 10 lbs. HAH! Don't worry, rejoice in plateaus. They are followed by plunges in weight. You are due for a BIG loss. BTW, when was your surgery? Lou Ann
