DUMPING!
Syndi, Are you chewing everything 30 times or more, and are you taking tiny bites? I have found if I eat too fast and don't chew it to a mush consistancy, I usually have a problem with it getting stuck. I'm sorry you are experiencing this, but if you are like me, it won't take too many times "dumping" to figure out how to do it right. Hang in there, it will get better. I actually was able to eat some roast beef Sunday...it took me thirty minutes to eat 4 bites, but I got it down and it was soooo good. Just remember to eat slowly and chew, chew, chew!
Take care,
Shar
hi:
I had my surgery on 1/19 and have not had any dumping. I am still on pureed foods and find that even with pureed foods I have to eat very slowly and take time in between each spoon portion. I have had egg salad but I put in the food processor and made it mush. I also had mash potato....baked potato and sour cream it not allowed for another three weeks. You really need to take small bites and rest between each one letting the food get down....hope this helps...good luck
Syndi:
You may want to try eating slower and chew your food more. I had my surgery on 1/18/2005 as well, and I havent dumped yet. I try to choose low carb things such as peanut butter or soft scrambled eggs. These things also have a good amount of protien in them per serving. I have actually this week been able to eat deli sliced turkey and provolone cheese. Im not sure if that is something you like, but its really great for me. You just take one small slice of turkey and one slice of cheese and roll them together. You definitely have to chew each tiny bite about 25-30 times, but its a great low carb meal with lots of protein. It really fills you up! I have found that I have to remind myself to eat! LOL
Anyway, Hope that suggestion helps. God Bless!
