Funky, Nasty, Dragon Breath ???
LOL! Yes, we have all gone through that and there is little that can be done about it. It is called Ketoacidosis. It is what happens to diabetics when their sugar is out of control. It also is a result of our body "eating itself". Basically our body this early after surgery is surviving off the existing fat in our system instead of what we are putting into ourselves.
Personally I brush my teeth constantly, use one of those toungue scrappers, and I use those listerine pocket packs a lot. Oh, and I always have those sugar free Blitz mints with me!
HTH!

Yes I had this and horrible stomach aches from the Ketons (SP?) however my doctors nurse said to drink more water and it would help. It did. If I drink more fluids I find that I have neither. She told me to double my fluids but I was not drinking as much as I should have been anyway. So I would say just see what amount works for you.

I am 11 days post op and yes the breath and the taste in my mouth are just awful. I have to make sure I am not too close to anyone... I brush my teeth a lot, and I use listerine the organe flavour all the time. SF mints help too.
