Hi Julie K!
Welcome Home and Congratulations! Dr. C. does great work, and he takes great care of his patients.
I can relate to how you're feeling, because I felt the same way.
Here is what helped me...
Pain meds are helpful- The Lortabs are great, but they knocked me out. After a few days I switched to Tylenol, and I felt much better.
I slept in a recliner for a couple of days. It was much more comfortable than the hospital bed, and I could position myself in the recliner easier than my bed at home.
Walk as much as you can.
Follow the post op diet plan they gave you. It works well.
Drink small sips of water continuously throughout the day. Always have a glass of water at hand.
You will get used to the Heparin. I will be finishing up my Heparin on Sunday. (3 shots per day for three weeks). It's not fun, but it sure beats a blood clot!
Take care

I used liquid tylenol for a couple of days, then I switched to caplets. I found that the brand name Tylenol seemed to be smaller in size than the generic equivilent, so I stayed with the Tylenol Brand.
And yes, the Lortabs really knocked me out. I only used them at bedtime, once I got out of Sister's.
Take care!
