Hi everyone, new to this whole thing. I'm two-weeks post op tomorrow, don't go back to see the doc and nutritionist til next week but as far as I know and feel, everything is going very well. The only pain I have seems to be the infamous left side pain. I don't always feel hungry though so its tough doing all my necessary liquids but I still feel fine, not overly tired, not hungry, .....is this normal??

That's wonderful ! Most people's bodies take a while to adjust to the big change. Continue success!!

Hi Angela, I had my surgery on 1/18/05. I have both open and closed. I feel pretty good. The amounts of protein (75g) and fluid that is required is a bit much however I try each day to do better. I am usally a few oz. & grams off every now and then. I have the crazy left side pain. Jen

Hi Jen glad to hear you are doing so well too. did you have any kind of unusual things happening? like im expecting all this tremendous pain and mishaps but (knock on wood) i have no problems, i don't get it!. of course im not complaining though just wondering if this is right. and where exactly is my new stomach, like when i drink sometimes it feels like it****ting right at the top of my abdomen then it feels like it goes all the way down to my waist sometimes, HUH??

Hi Angela, I haven't had any "real" problems. I keep knocking wood every time I tell my story. I had to have open for my insurance to cover me. I had 2 doctors work on me. One did open and the other did closed. I have mild pain on the 4 inch cut on my tummy but other than that, I can eat food without issues. My 2 stomachs like to compete with each other. It's a bit strange. Your new stomach is on the right ~ old on the left. Sounds like we are the lucky ones.... take it as a blessing. Jen Best of luck!
