With the month winding down, I just wanted to say how happy I am for myself and all of my fellow January post-ops!!! We are on a great new journey together and I am excited for all of us! I thought I would start a status update and anyone else who wanted to add to it, I would greatly love it!!! Since my surgery on 1/7/05, I have had no complications (Thank goodness!!!), I am down 43 lbs and a total of -83 lbs since November 2004. I am finally getting all protein, vitamins, and water in that I need and I am walking a mile everday and will start back to swimming and water aerobics tomorrow. I am now at the soft foods stage and I am tolerating most things I eat, just in extremely little amounts. I am not back to work yet, I probably could be, but I am lucky to get 7 weeks paid off, so I am taking advantage of it!!! I hope many of you will update your status too because I would love to know how everyone is doing and if any of us are struggling maybe we can help each other....I like having you guys for my "losing" family!!! Good luck to all!!!

Hi Jen! I am also a January "post op". I had surgery on January 10, 2005. I have lost a total of 29 pounds and am ecstatic! I just on soft foods, so I am having tofu and eggs. I'm not crazy about cottage cheese or non-fat yogurt, so I haven't tried those yet. I'm trying to get in as much exercise as possible, but I always feel so tired. Did you also experience this constant tirednesss at some point? I do have some restless nights, so I know that my sleeping pattern has not returned to normal yet. I was also having some problems with having diarrhea, because I think I was drinking too much sugar drinks and not enough plain water. I should have realized it, because prior to having weight loss surgery, my stomach would not tolerate most of the sugar free foods. I too also agree that it's wonderful to be able to chat with others who have crossed over to the "losing side" or even those that might be thinking about it. It's always nice to know that you're not out there all by your lonesome. Take care, God Bless and will post again. Aloha, Pat from Hawaii

Hello Jen my friend I just called you today, well here is my update I had surgery on Jan 11, all went well and contInues to go well. I had a serious problem with constipation but that is under control by taking 2 stool softners each night. I'm down a total of 25 Ilbs as of Tuesday Feb 1. I started at 292 now I'm at 267. My cancer doctor was so happy for me when I went to my last appointment, she has already headed me in the direction to a wonderful plastic surgeron. I'll start back to the gym on Monday I've been so busy moving my Mom and waiting to close on my house this week. I have my days when it comes to getting my protien shakes in, my water intake is pretty good. It amazes me that what your pouch likes on one day , it can hate 3 days later, this has happen to me several times this week. Our bodies are really changing. Thanks Jen for starting the updates, it is a real inspiration to see how others are doing since surgery.
