Inside Exercise?
Okay, my super smart goup of OH friends! I need some ideas of some things I can do to get moving since the weather is not friendly enough to step outside ('cause I'll end up on my backside )
When I am at work, I can walk around inside the building and get some movement that way, but my little house doesn't allow for much movement inside. I have 2 more weeks before I can start weight bearing exercises, so it's cardio only for now.
Any ideas would be much appreciated
Amanda
Hey Amanda!
When you can weight-bear, get in the kitchen at the counter or the sink and try these while hanging on:
1. Swing your right leg out to the side 10 times, then the left.
2. Swing your right leg backward 10 times, then the left.
3. Go up on your toes 10 times.
4. Squat (lightly) 10 times.
5. Stand sideways to the right and lift your right knee up 10 times.
6. Stand sideways to the left and lift your left knee up 10 times.
As far as cardio, anything where your arms are above your shoulders will increase cardio output, so you could try these with a yardstick:
1. Chest to ceiling 10 times.
2. Chest to straight out in front 10 times.
3. "Paddle the canoe" on each side 10 times.
4. Twist side to side with arms straight out 10 times.
5. Yardstick behind your head (to touch the back of your neck) 10 times.
Not sure if this is the type of thing you're looking for, but maybe someone can use 'em!
