Getting a little frusterated....
I am now three weeks post-op and I think I have hit my first plateau, the scales just aren't moving like they did a couple weeks ago. I am trying not to get aggrivated, I know we will hit these times often, I guess I just wasn't expecting to be going through it only 3 weeks after surgery. I asked the doctor about it and she said not to get worried that when the scale didn't move and you were exercising (which I do everday) it meant you were losing inches not pounds and that it would end soon.
I want to lose the inches AND pounds LOL!!!
Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I am two weeks out and gained a pound! Heh....I'm still happy with 17 pounds lost in 2 weeks I could have NEVER done that on my own.
However, I'm not worried because I think especially in the beginning we are struggling to learn to "eat" again - getting all our liquids and protein in, not get dehydrated, etc. All of this has an effect on our weight loss. I just found out 64 oz. isn't enough water for me (I'm still somewhat dehydrated) so I'm upping that amount.
I also look at it this way: I can't really do any excercising for 6 weeks except walking. I want to tone as I lose, and the more weight I lose before I can do that the harder it will be to keep up.
Hang in there - I hadn't lost in 5 days then GAINED 1 pound. It will come off in inches AND pounds in due time
Good news!
Remember all those fluids they pumped in you in the hospital? And all the liquids you had to do right after? Well, once you stop all those fluids, your body panics and retains water. Once your routine is normal for a bit longer, your body will allow that retained water to "flow" away!
Just make sure you are getting enough water in to compensate for your exercise: 8oz. for every 30 minutes you exercise.
Keep strong! I was 3 weeks out Monday and am still just trying to get all the water in!

First of all, ALL of you stop weighing yourself. You will make yourself insane. It is so scary to weigh yourself everyday because depending on what your water and food intake as well as wether you have pooped that day is you can weigh more than you really do. Also if you weigh in the morning you usually weigh more because your body has stored water for the night. My dietician said that you should weigh yourself every 2 weeks or only once a month but measurements are the best way to scale your accomplishments. This is all of course just my humble opinion Good luck in whatever you do, and don't worry this too shall pass
