Postponed... what a shock!

First of all, I would like to thank all of you who sent messages of support for my original surgery date of 1/27. I wish I had enough time to answer everyone, but please accept this public 'thank you' to each and every one of you. My surgeon called and said that the pulmonologist called and wanted me to undergo another sleep study before the surgery. Well, not exactly. The pulmonologist said I was cleared, but let the surgeon decide whether or not another sleep study was needed. He decided to be overly cautious, which from a purely logical perspective you cannot argue with. However, what shocked me so much was my reaction to the news. I was really upset (both sad and mad). I had gone through the whole surgical screening process with a level of clinical thinking. I knew I wanted the surgery, but mainly for health reasons. I knew it would be the best thing for me. However, when it was taken away from me (for two weeks), I knew I really, really, really want it. I know major surgery is never something to rush into, but the delay has been irritating. I think reading through these forums and getting to know some people here has only made me want to have the surgery more, which is a good testimonial to the powers of support groups such as this. Thanks, all.
