January 31st Surgery Date!
New Jersey reporting in here!! I too am excited, as well as a little unsure. I don't know why - but I guess it just the incomprehendable idea that I can actually be thin - or at least not overweight/obese.
My wonderful husband had a LAP RNY too from the same Dr. I am going to use back on 8/2/04. He has lost 104 lbs so far, and is off ALL medications, -- high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and most importantly diabetic!! He feels great - he's hooked on working out now too! He's followed all the rules - diet/vitamins/exercise, and has had not one problem or issue.
We just set up a mini gym in our basement, so I guess that will be our new hang out place! (He's down there on the treadmill now - as it sit here at the computer! LOL!)
This surgery is such a blessing - I have a new healthy husband, and I can't wait to have the same results.
All my pre-op stuff is almost done - but since I've never had one, and I'm going under general anastisia (sp) and because I'm 43 (why did my PCP have to keep stressing that point??!!) he wants me to have a stress test. He's sure the results will be fine - but just to play it safe. So Tuesday's my day to get that over with.
The 31st will be here before we know it, and we'll be on our way to a new and healthier life!
God bless you all and good luck to each and everyone of you!

Hi, my wls date is also January 31st...I really don't feel nervous just ready to get on with it. I have to have mine open due to two previous surgeries and also my insurance will not allow laps yet in my home town. The surgeon is great and I've heard nothing but absolutely wonderful things about him. He said even if my insurance allowed lap he wouldn't suggest it for me. too much scar tissue. Well good luck to all of us and will see you on the loosers bench soon. Height 5' and 1/2 inch. Highest weight 265 current weight 250...Goal weight 122 or less.
