hey stacie, refried beans huh! were they too heavy? how much did you eat? probably not more than a spoonful right. someone else had mashed potatoes. I will see the doctor tomorrow and ask him about all that. the protein drinks really are horrible but with no carbs for the body, the protein is the next best thing. take care, peggy

If you do protein drinks or carnation instant breakfast with lactaid 1%. If you do CIB with lactaid 1% you get 1 cup (8 oz) and it equals= 12 grams of protein. That is pretty good for somethign that does not taste too bad. If you get a higher dose of protein drink you are even better. If you have to thin something out, lactaid works well for most things. I have already thinned out tuna fish and refried beans (seperatly) with lactaid and it adds so much protein to the mix! HTH! Cheese is a good source of protein too, and heck you can always mix baby food with cream of wheat or mashed potatoes for a protein boost while still on puree!
