Is it nerves or is something wrong?

I was given my surgery date of Jan 24th on 1-8-05. I really haven't had that much time to sink in. I have been so busy trying to do the spring cleaning thing. Since 1-8-05 I have been experiencing this knot in the middle of my stomach right below my ribs. It is an ache that sometimes I feel like what if something is wrong. Part of me feels like my nerves just kicked in when my date came so soon. The other part of me feels like what if I have some kind of infection. Maybe I am just paranoid. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or am I crazy?

Hi, I would say that it is nerves but if you are worried that it could me more go to your doctor. I am 16 hours and counting on my surgery and my nerves are getting the better of me. So I know what you are going threw, your not crazy. It is perfectly normal to feel like this. Just sit and take a few deep breathes and your date will be here soon. Take care and God Bless.

Amanda, I know exactly what you are going through. I was given my surgery date of 1/24/05 on 1/7. All weekend after that I had the diarhea and then last Wednesday I broke out with this horrible rash under my arms and on my inner thighs. I was so upset I thought for sure I was going to have to postpone my surgery. It is just a yeast infection. Thank goodness. I think in your case it is just nerves but if you the pain is intense or just to ease your mind you may want to contact a nurse at your surgeons office for some advise. Since I got my surgery date I have been having phantom aches all over my body. They are just little twinges every once in a while. So I don't think you are crazy, but if you are then we will be crazy together. Good luck to you. I will pray for a uncomplicated surgery and a speedy recover for you. Kim

Amanda: Hi sweeite: Its just nerves. I got my date of 1-27-05 on Jan 5, 05 I have had diarrhea and pains and silly dreams to boot. But, God is helping by easing my anxiety with prayer. You are definately not crazy just a lil' anxious. I am praying for you as well. Keep us posted. Sonya

I would say probably nerves but to be on the safe side tell the doc about it. Did they do the scope (ENG) yet? Everything was okay? Just look at it this way you could be thinking of an upcoming surgery date for months instead of weeks, I would hate that. I found out last Tuesday 1/11/05 that my surgery is scheduled for 1/27/05. You think they do this intentionally? How much notice do they usually give? I wonder if they could give us some anti anxiety meds a few days before the surgery? Denise
