I'm Home and THANK YOU EVERYONE
I'm home, finally. I got home yesterday at 1:30p.m., and am doing very good. I have pains, gas mostly, one constant pain on my lower left side of my belly which I will call the nurse about tomorrow because it hasn't eased up since I got home from the hospital. I think it's just a pulled muscle from straining to pull my self out of the bed, getting up out of chairs, etc. I'm not supposed to lift 25lbs, yet I have to "lift" 300 lbs to get myself up
GOOD NEWS I've already LOST five pounds! I know that's water weight, but hey, it's gone forever.
I walked three laps two hours after surgery, the next day I walked four more after I woke up, and the last day I was there we walked about five and a half or so. Today I just got finished walking 15 mins on the treadmill at a slow pace, but almost a quarter of a mile
I want to say THANK YOU for EVERYONE on this board. Thank you Paige, Peter and Carol Carrol for contacting me and posting my progress on the boards, God BLESS YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you also everyone for PRAYING! Above all, this is what pulled me through.
One of the nurses said I was the first patient they had to walk two hours after surgery, much less three laps I was bound and determined to beat them clots to death before they could form
I am feeling GREAT! I do miss and crave SO MUCH FOOD, even stupid stuff I never even liked! I'm still on pure liquids, ALL s/f of course, s/f popsicles, s/f jello (can't eat even two bites of that stuff), s/f, f/f pudding, s/f, f/f yogurt **** cream style), and broths.
I feel like I'm eating too much, but I don't even get down an ounce of broth or yogurt, much less anything else. I'm doing great getting in water, but protein shakes aren't that good for me right now. I'm going to have to buy protien powder and just stir in my food.
Next week I can begin to eat softer foods, un-pureed types, and I'm reallllllly looking forward to an egg for some reason, and mashed potatoes!
I haven't not one time, nor have I been nauseated. I didn't even fill my pain prescriptions either, because all I experience is gas pains, minus that one nagging pain I mentioned above.
I'm not going to stay online much tonight, because I have SO MUCH energy already, it's unbelievable, and SO HARD TO FATHOM I'VE HAD SURGERY!
There are six tiny pokes on my belly, and one of the tape covers already fell off, they sting once in a while, but they are really looking good.
I will post this and the rest of the story (LONG VERSION) on my profile.
God bless, and I'm taking this week off but probably will go to school, not sure yet,
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!! YOU ARE ALL to me
Beth
