Big fear...

For some crazy reason, I've had this fear of failure all day. I am one week post-op and I am already questioning whether I've screwed up already. I am trying so hard to get all my liquids and I'm doing ok in that department. It's just that everything is going sooooo well...I've not had any nausea, no gas pains, no feelings of fullness. I really expected to at least find out what it means to feel full. Maybe when I can get started on soft foods tomorrow I will find out . I just don't want to blow this "weight loss program" like I have all the others I've done. Has anyone else had these feelings or am I all alone on this one? Oh well, just needed to vent a little. Thanks for letting me get it out.

Hello Charlene, From what I understand the questioning whether you did the right thing or not is normal. I am not post op yet, my surgery is scheduled 1/25, but every profile I read said this is a normal thing, and it will eventually pass. I wish you all the encouragement in the world. Christie

Hi Charlene.. I think I talked to you before surgery. Mine was Monday the 10th. I am doing well but like you I am so afraid I will do someting wrong. I am drinking and my doc had me on soft foods when I came home. Honestly I am scared to eat!! I am not hungry and I don't want to be sick if I suddenly become full. I have been told I will know when that is but with the gas pressure sometimes i am not sure. I can't be eating enough to be full because I only will eat a few spoonfuls. Let me know how you do on you softs. Sharon

In the beginning all it takes a few spoonfuls and you are full, so trust yourself. As far as feeling like you will mess up or fail, just go by what the doctor has told you. My doctor actually gave me a schedule of everything I should be doing and when and it goes for the first year. I pull that thing out and look at it everyday, several times a day to make sure I don't miss something in there. I know as long as I follow that, then I will succeed. Do you have similar information? Good luck and email me if you have any questions.
