1 wk post-op and soooo weepy!
Oh my gosh, I am soooo emotional. I am crying at the least little things. It doesn't help that I have just been watching "Oprah" with Celine Dion and miracle babies. I started this on Saturday after my surgery on Friday. I thought maybe it was the after-affects of the anesthesia, but surely it wouldn't last this long would it? Just wondering if anyone else has experience this?
Oh honey,
I had my surgery on the 6th and I feel the same way. I called my Dr. because I was almost having an anxiety attack. She said that the narcotics can do that to people. Also you are probably mourning food. I know I am, the shakes just aren't cutting it but we CAN do this!!!!!!!!!
Good luck and if you want to chat let me know.

Hi Brandy,
You are absolutely right! I guess saying "good bye" was one stage and now I have to go through the mourning stage. I don't know why I hadn't thought of that. I would love to compare notes with you if you want. I love to chew crushed ice, but it does nothing for my taste buds. What kind of shakes are you sipping? and how much? Are you counting it as part of your liquid intake or meal? I hope I'm doing this right!!! I sure don't want to mess up now.

CHARLENE:
Hi, sorry you are going thru this, but I've heard that our hormones get "aligned" like they are supposed to, leading to the emotional rollercoaster the majority goes thru after surgery. I am realizing the "mourning" of food TODAY! Tomorrow is my surgery, and today I've been on liquids and s/f jello(s), so I've been thinking non-stop about what I can/can't have from here on out post-op. We really have a co-dependency on food, and I realize that!! It's odd, but I'm starting the mourning process already even still a couple of hours pre-op. You can email me anytime if you'd like to chat!! I hope it doesn't last too much longer for you, so you can begin to enjoy the benefits of this surgery! Nice pic, too!
Have a great weekend!
