Sick and Surgery Date in two days :(

I am scheduled to have surgery on the 13th (Thursday) and I have a horrible cold and sore throat. I went to the doctor on Sunday to make sure I didn't have strep and my test was negative. I am so scared that they might postpone the surgery has anyone had this happen to them? Either had surgery with a cold or had surgery rescheduled due to being sick?

I have surgery scheduled on Jan 24 and I have really bad sinus problems with drainage. I have lots of congestion. I went to our local support group on 1-8 and the nurse told me that he would not do surgery if I had all the congestion. I called my PCP and was given an antibiotic that is working. It doesn't seem that you have much time for that so maybe they could give you a large dose of an antibiotic at one time. Doesn't hurt to try. I understand being scared they will cancel or delay your surgery for it. I already have nightmares that I will forget to do something and get it delayed. Good Luck....

My surgeon said if I got sick to call and he would prescribe something so it would not interfere with surgery. Good Luck!
