Frustrated with PCP!!!!!!!!!!

I went to visit my PCP today and weighed. I have advised him for three months, as long as I have known, that I have to lose 30 lbs. before my surgeon will do my surgery. I have been on a mainly liquid (protein shake) diet for the last three weeks and have not lost any weight. I asked him about it. He looked over my medications and told me he needed to adjust my medications because he had me on a medication that causes people to gain weight. I was really upset. We have enough trouble losing weight anyway, why would a doc put me on a med that causes me to gain weight when there is an alternative? I cried all afternoon. I am still 15 pounds from my goal and 10 days from my surgery. I put a call into my surgeon's office. At least my PCP told me that he would talk to my surgeon if he wants to discuss the issue. I would appreciate your prayers.... I will be very disappointed if my surgery gets postponed because of this whole situation. Carolyn

Carolyn, What a bummer! I am saying prayers for you and I'm sure many others are too (if I know this group!). Even if your surgery is delayed, just know that is "THE" plan. I read a sign for a church in Arkansas once that said, "Coinsidences are just small miracles in which God chooses to remain annonymous." Well, with that in mind, maybe, just maybe, there is a reason and we have to trust. Easy for me to say, huh? Whenever your surgery ends up, I will keep you in my thoughts and will be waiting to hear good news. Rhonda F
