Counting down....
I don't have a formal list, but I can share with you some of the items that I have packed for my January 17th surgery.
Puzzle book (those 'Find it' Circle ones) along with a pen or marker
CHAP STICK (hospitals are almost always too warm and dry...things dry out)
Ear plugs and eye mask (too noisy and too much light sometimes)
A good book.
My own pillow from home.
A portable CD player, ear phones, CD's and batteries
Address book and long-distance calling card (in case I need to call someone)
Some nice smelling hand lotion. ANYTHING to make your stay a little more comfortable.
As far as your grocery shopping list,
I got SF Jello cups (already made so I don't have to dink with it)
Clear juices like apple and grape (your doctor will probably want you to dilute them with water 1:1.) Protein powder of your flavor choice.
SF pudding. Skim milk. Powdered milk. Chewable children's vitamins.
Boullion cubes.
SF popsicles.
NO POP!
I got some pureed baby bananas and peaches. I also got some bottles of baby juice (not the orange or anything with too much acid or pulp) They are small sized and recloseable so I can take out a little bit at a time.
I hope this helps. I'm sure other folks will have suggestions, too!
