3 days post-op

I am so excited! I got out of the hospital yesterday. Everyone has said how proud of me they are. Dr. Mueller has been amazing. I am so blessed with the chance to experience this journey. One question I have is I am terrified to wash my incisions any suggestions

You should be able to wash them (gently) in the shower, but I would avoid submerging them in the tub. Kelly

Amanda, Hi from another Amanda! I am one week post op. I was told that I couldn't get the drain hole wet until it was completely closed - it might introduce infection. What I do is cover my drain wound with guaze and LOTS of paper tape from the hospital, and only let my back be in the shower. I wash my hair leaning back, holding onto the curtain rod for balance. The other wounds are closed and I actually took my first shower at the hospital the day after surgery and could get them wet even then. Hope that helps! Amanda B.
