I feel dumb for asking this, but what does an angel do? Charity

Charity, I think its someone who updates the forum on how you're doing after surgery, while still in the hospital. It's also someone who supports you when you need support. Brandy

I didn't know either until 3 days ago...my surgery was on Monday, 1/3. Teresa P. (who I already knew from previous local contact) stepped up and volunteered as my angel. She sent very encouraging e-mails the days prior and called both days I was in the hospital to check on my progress. She asked my husband to call her on surgery day for an update. Then, she took the time to post updates on OH. Another OH friend (we didn't meet until we were both post-op on the same hospital ward) has not had the same easy recovery that I have. Teresa is also serving as her angel and has been very proactive in posting updates on her condition and prayer requests as follow-up medical procedures have been scheduled. I can tell you that, even though she was already a friend, having Teresa as my OH Angel added to the level of support I felt through the surgery and hospitalization. I am home now and doing well - only taking regular liquid Tylenol for pain control (didn't want/need the one with codeine). I am also certain that I will want to be an angel for folks coming down the path behind me -- there really is something to feeling the direct support of others who understand this journey. Thank you Teresa!!
