Good luck and congrats on your surgery date! As far as your question, I can only say how it has been for everyone using the hospital I am using. We had to pay or deductible at Pre-op so that it was out of the way before we were admitted the day of the surgery. Hope this helps prepare you and again best wishes!

Hi Jan! call your insurance co and ask member services if you have a co pay for hospital admittance. I just found out that it will cost me $250-$500 at the door on the 31st of this month. Hope this helps , good luck !!!

Jan, I know most make you pay up front, but ask the hospital. I already pre-registered, but my hosptial actually called me and said they would be collecting my co-pay upfront when I check in the day of surgery. I am lucky in that my hospital admit copay is only $100. Don't be too upset - if you can somehow borrow the money that is an option. Or if you have a credit card you can use (at least partial payment) most hospitals take credit cards and you can check with them. I had surgery a few years ago to remove my gall bladder and couldn't pay the whole co-pay up front and the hospital worked with me to pay over a couple of months. At that time I had a $500 copay and couldn't possibly pay that amount at that time. I'm sure every hospital is different but it doesn't hurt to check. With all you are worried about with the upcoming surgery this shouldn't be one of them! Good luck!
