ONE MORE WEEK TILL SURGERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow I go for my pre-op tests. I'm kinda nervous. I've had the "bug" again for a few days, I honestly think it's just nerves setting in...the entire concept of surgery, losing weight, getting healthy and all.
Please pray for me. I'm not scared of this surgery, but I am worried about complications. There are people who weighed less than me who had to have an Open RNY, and Dr. Stahl says he sees no problem with me doing mine LAP, which I prefer. However, I just think I'm too "big" in the middle to do it LAP. I guess I'm nit-picking over EVERYTHING big and little that can or could or probably never will happen.
Did anyone else go thru this?
PLEASE share your "One more week" stories about how you were feeling, etc, and how you prepared for surgery. I need major support here, I'm getting myself worked up for really nothing.
Love
You are not alone! Mine is one week from today (1/12). I woke up this morning with a cold. Thankfully I discovered Cold-Eeze and (knock on wood) my sniffles have stopped and I feel great.
I have also gone through everything under the book - even being prescribed Xanax because I'm so anxious I'm grinding my teeth so badly that I'm getting TMJ headaches and extreme nausea from the iron supplements. Also, I'm not getting a huge amount of support either.
I'm reading the posts every day, checking out the "before/after" pictures, and journaling. I'm not sure what else to do - just waking up every morning and trying to get through the day!
I had my pre op early and actually felt better after I went because the hospital staff was so competent and kind.
Bottom line is that we will get through the surgery and be SO glad afterward. Hang in there - this it totally normal. I like people's advice on here to focus on the positives and not the negatives so we won't drive ourselves nuts.
Good luck - hang in there. The time will be here before you know it!
