Question about binder

How long do you have to wear the stomach binder? Stephanie

Hi stephanie, I've not heard a thing about a binder. Everything I have read or been told was to wear loose clothing. Why the binder? and exactly what is it? Is the binder for WLS or tummy tuck? Now I probably have you confused more than ever. But so am I. Sorry, I wish I could help, Charlene

A binder is an elastic and cloth wrap with boning that helps keep everything stable. Not everyone uses one and they do help alot of people. It basically holds everything in place and helps the abdominal muscles stay tight. It can be used both for tummy tucks and WLS. Hope this helps. B

I wore mine at night for about 3 weeks and during the day for about 2 weeks. I wore it during the day most of the time. I found it gave me more support especially when getting in and out of bed. It also helps keep any bandages, etc., in place over your incision. Of course I had the open RNY so the binder was extremely helpful in giving the extra support.
