SURGERY DATE / items and supplies needed
Hi Josephine,
My surgery is on Monday 3rd and I didn't buy anything for this surgery. I have a recliner that I will use and I would recommend getting one. Heating pad was not recommended by anyone in the support group. Just get loose fitting clothing.
Best wishes on your surgery day. Days will go by real fast that you will be to catch up.
Look forward to reading your posts.

you don't need to buy a recliner, you can just call a local rent to own center and rent one for a couple of weeks while you heal. some ppl find it easier to sleep and get up from a recliner.
the heating pad ? I don't know, heat can increase blood flow, might make you throb more at incisiion. maybe its for your back?
the biker shorts- after surgery some people are given abdomenial binders, they fit snuggly and help support to incision area, if you have a large fold or belly it can pull on incision. possibly they are using the biker shorts/spandex shorts for support.
Talk to your surgeon about the heating pad or biker shorts, each doc has his own preference for post op care. The recliner is for your convenience but the heating pad and shorts can affect incision.
Hi Josephine,
I don't really know why on the pad and shorts but the chair is cause if you have a hard time getting into and out of bed I think...
As for other things look on my post on the 12/31/04 - What to bring to the hospital... etc...
This is what a list a lady from WI sent to me that her and others put together. This may help you on stuff. Good luck on your surgery... I leave today for mine, have my class and see my Doc today and go in for surgery tomorrow... take care and see you on the loosers side...
