IS IT TRUE?

I am scheduled to have surgery on Jan 11th, 05 and I am really having a hard time getting 18lbs off like the Doctor wanted before my surgery. I was told that if I did not lose the 18lbs that they would reschedule my surgery date is this true? Other people that I talk to in my town locally that have had the surgery did not have to lose weight. I'm wondering why I have to. Please if anyone knows let me know. Thanks, Discouraged

My doctor is making me lose 30 lbs before my surgery on 1-21-05. I've lost 15 lbs, I;ll weigh again today to see if I've lost more. If your surgeon says he won't do the surgery, I'd believe him. My surgeon doesn't make everyone lose weight either, just us lucky patients. You might call his/her office and let him/her know that you are having some trouble and see if they have some specific suggestions. Best wishes, Carolyn Hubbard
