Still using protein supplements?
I have not been able to use them since early post op. They caused me such constipation problems that I ended up having to see a colon/rectal surgeon due to the damage the constipation had caused me internally (sorry, tmi, I know). I am finally now at 18mths post op getting my problems pretty much cleared up. I can't do the drinks or the bars, so I've been getting all of my protein from foods. I have not had any problems with losing~or gaining~weight as long as I stick with the program. Do you find that when you cut back on the supplements that you're eating alot more food or the wrong foods b/c you're hungry??? Just wondering why the weight gain??? I'll have to check back later and see what responses you get to this b/c its an interesting question. Good Luck to You!

I have been at goal since Jan and still do a protein shake for breakfast most mornings. I am not a breakfast person so I find it is better than skipping a meal.
I have had no problems maintaining so far and pray I continue. I also LOVE the nectar caribbean coolada I think it is yummy and I take my meds with it in the am.

Yes, I am still drinking my protein 6oz in the morning when I take my vitamins and 6oz at 3pm. On some days I drink 12 oz in the morning and 12 oz at 3pm however on those days I've used it as a meal replacement and will not eat lunch as I will get to busy at work.
I liked the questions because I was wondering this as well. I like the protein drink; I use Muscle Milk Mocha Joe flavor. I was also wondering if increasing protein intake would help me loose some more weight? I am at the goal the doc says is good 150lbs but I'm short 5'4" and 130 would be a more comfortable weight and according to the BMI calculator a better weight for me. So, I'd like to loose 20 lb more ...
If increase intake of protein can help .... I would like to know.
