Topic: help with weight gain after pregnancy
I was so happy with my weight loss after surgery I went from 258 to 142 and was thrilled with how healthy I felt and good I looked. I got pregnant and had a child October 20, 2006 apx 3 1/2 months ago. I went from 145 to 198 during that pregnancy. I am down to 175 and feeling very fat, unsatisfied and sad. I am afraid that I will never be able to get back to my goal weight. The first 4 weeks I went from 198 to 183. Since then I have been following the Atkins diet, high protein, low carb, lots of water and am still taking my prenatal vitamins. I have almost lost nothing and it jumps around 5 pounds a day sometimes which is ridiculous. I am taking birth control for the first time in my life and I am 45 years (yes I know old for anothe child ....lol...but he is a blessing!) I am wondering if hormones from the birth control is impacting my weight loss. Please help I am getting really frustrated and don't want to be stuck here or gain even more. Waiting for your advice...write me back fast

Hi Alberto!
My three year anniversary is coming up on Sunday. I, too, experienced some weight gain, but mine happened last year. I gained about 20 pounds back. I jumped back into the game, lost that 20, plus some more and am at my all time lowest now of 128! From 304 at day of surgery down to 128.
You can get back into the game. Do you exercise? That is all you really need to do is dedicate yourself to exercise. I go to the gym religiously and this is what keeps me in top shape, mentally, spiritually, and physically.
Good luck to you. I KNOW you can do it. You did it once, you can again. Forget about that honeymoon period, that "window of opportunity" they talk about. You can do it at any time. I have faith in you. I am proud of where you have come from to where you are now and know that you can get control once again. You CAN do it. I hope to hear from you soon that you have taken control again and are losing it again. I just know that you can do it, Alberto. YOU CAN!!!!!

Topic: Happy 3 Year WLS Anniversary Nitro Mike!
I know as each year comes, the decision you made to have this surgery was one of the most scary but life-changing decisions you have ever had to make. Was it a rollercoaster ride for you in the beginning....YES! Was it something that maybe at one time or another wished you would have not had the surgery because of the unexpectations along the way?...YES! BUT, on the other hand... do you appreciate not having to take 3 high blood pressure medications everyday?... YES! Do you appreciate not having to sleep with a C-Pap machine at night for the sleep apnea you suffered so badly from?... YES! And lastly, do you not appreciate this second chance at life by deciding to do something about it?...YES!
Michael, I just wanted to publicly wish you a happy, happy, happy 3-year wls anniversary to the man I know, and can proudly call my own. I love you more each day and am so glad that I was able to take this ride with you.

Topic: Wow! Its almost 3 years!
I cannot believe that we are almost 3 years out. I went from not understanding why anyone would have weight loss surgery to having it to thanking God for my surgeon's skill and my decsion to have the surgery. My only "complaint" is that I didn't have it 10 years sooner sometimes i feel like i wasted those years. I am so happy that I had the courage to have the surgery. If you feel blessed. LUCKY. Keep up the good work guys! michelle.
